Call for Submissions!
You may have noticed the typewriter in the cafe. Or the paperback copies of Nanowrimo novels. Or the immense book exchange. In short, we rather like literature at Dr. Coffee’s. So, with the help of Procaffeinated Press we are putting together a little coffee shop anthology and we want your contributions!

Anything is acceptable – poems, rants, essays, journal entries, random musings, fiction, terrible jokes, doodles, art and graphics, even typing practice on the typewriter. You can be as anonymous as you like as well. The only requirement is that you write your stuff actually in the cafe!!

Want to see your stuff in print? Just drop in the big envelope next to the typewriter, or email it to

Happy New Year!

1906_1688162231400261_167757172077466960_nIt’s 2016 already! Not sure how that has happened so soon…

We are back after a mini break over the holidays,  refreshed and ready to go. If Monday is your first day back at work and New Year’s partying has taken its toll, then rest assured you can caffeinate with us.

Coffees this week are Mexican Altura dark roast (the high grown, strong and smokey breakfasty one) and Indonesian Toraja Sulewesi light roast that tastes of sweet spices, roasted nuts and (in my opinion) black pepper. Give us a call if you would like canisters delivering to your door! Retail bags of Colombian and Nicaraguan as well as our house blends are available to buy in the cafe too.

Our lunch menu is expanding! Alongside our range of paninis, we are now offering Fully Loaded Lunch bagels. Larry of Going with the Grain bakery has been supplying our breakfast bagels (made 4 blocks away) for a while now, but we have asked him double our order. You can now get a bagel served open-faced, piled high with any of our fillings and grilled to perfection. All the fillings are locally produced via Local and Fresh. This week’s feature is Turkey, Pesto and Edam cheese.

Special thanks go to Adam Baker from the Sunday Art Market for organising the “You can’t spell Heart without Art” gig at the cafe on 20th December. We had some superb musicians playing and the art auction raised over $1000 for Regina Open Door society.
If you’d like to hold an event at the cafe, please give us a call on 306 520-4971. We can accommodate all sorts of events whether it’s during our opening hours or a private function.

Many thanks for your support in 2015, and we look forward to seeing you in the coming year!

Coffee beans now available!

Dr. Coffee has been roasting! We are very pleased to be able to offer half-pound bags of coffee beans in the cafe now. We have plenty of varieties and roast styles to choose from, and we can even grind up the beans for you if required.
We also have bean blends inspired by Dr. Coffee’s daughters. “Theia’s blend” is high caffeine and medium roasted, and designed to help you cope with sleepless nights (Babycoffee is 2 months old and still nocturnal!). Miranda’s blend is an espresso blend, big, bold and dark but slightly sweet and spicy too.

Fresh is definitely best when it comes to coffee beans, and by roasting locally at Dr Coffee’s, you know it’s about as fresh as you can get!
